Anchor in the Storm

Daily Manna from the Net for Saturday, July 04, 2015

Matthew 8:23-27 (NIV)
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

I have found more times than I can count where I have been in the midst of a storm in my life. I have forgotten to stop, remain calm and remember that God is in my life and is in control of this situation.   When I finally do remember and call upon His name, the storm does calm down. My perspective changes which begins the changing of my circumstances.   The Good Shepherd leads us through the storms even if He has to carry us.  Christ is above ALL things.  When I look back on how He has helped me my faith has grown.  Perseverance does build both character and faith when we place it in something which is unchanging and permanent.
